The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Motorcycle Drill Team performs in parades, at schools, children's hospitals, nursing homes, and other worthy events. Each year, thousands of people throughout Central Indiana and across the country experience the thrill of seeing the Team perform. The Drill Team serves as Law Enforcement Ambassadors of Good Will to our communities.

Our travels and expenses are funded by private money from individuals and businesses in Indianapolis and around the country. The officers on the Drill Team perform on their own time.

They currently ride Harley Davidson Road King Police Motorcycles.

These motorcycles are assigned to the officer and are used in their daily traffic enforcement duties. The Drill Team executes a multitude of precise and difficult drills requiring months of practice and choreography. The thrilling performances require both concentration and athletic ability to maneuver the 800 pound precision machines.

Our current team consists of twenty motorcycle officers. While performing, twelve motorcycles carry a letter that we can position to spell Indianapolis or Indiana.

For the past 55 years our Motorcycle Team has been one of the top goodwill ambassadors for the City of Indianapolis, the State of Indiana, and law enforcement around the country. With continual community support, the Drill Team will continue to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the public it serves, building better communities in which to live, work, and raise a family. We ask that you please join us in supporting our law enforcement community by joining and/or renewing your membership today. Thank you for your past, present, and future support of law enforcement and our Drill Team.

The Drill Team has performed at many events:

6 Presidential Inaugural Parades, the Blossomtime Festival in Benton Harbor, Michigan each year since 1963, the Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Harley Davidson Rallies across the country, the St. Petersburg Festival of States, the Edison Festival of Lights Parade in Ft. Myers, Florida; and over 30 American Legion National Convention Parades.
